Feeding time at the zoo

So. We got the snake (see Flying Fiery Serpents below). And once every few days, snakes eat.

This event was so sublime, I didn't want you to miss it. So I documented it for you.

Cool eh? I took a video too. I'll put it up as soon as I figure out how to do it.

  1. Very cool. The people we bought our snakes from told us to feed them in a paper bag so we don't often see the actual eating all that well.

  2. Interesting, Pat. Susan read that the snake shouldn't be fed in the terrarium, so that it won't bite when you reach in. Comforting, huh? So we used a plastic box instead.

  3. Ok... So I thought the actual getting of a snake and keeping it in the terrarium was enough for me but the feeding! Yikkes! Of course they need to eat but... It is one more reason I am glad that I don't have a snake. :)

  6. Okay... So I was all super proud of myself on account of I held that thing unaided for eight minutes and two seconds all in a row. We timed it. Cept after those images... I'm not so sure when the next time will be that it happens.

  7. Also I had pretty much the creepiest dream of my life about this snake last night. I dreamed that this snake grew (over the course of about one week) to be about 6 inches in diameter and it was like 5 million feet long. It was very scary. Then when I asked Susan why it grew so fast she said that those little frozen mice were very nutritious, so she had started eating them too. SICK!!
